Kiddy Kaul

Kiddy Kaul is an ACSM Health and Fitness Specialist, Peak Pilates MVe® Instructor and a Crossfit level 1 coach. She currently teaches at Club Xcell in New Delhi, India.

Why did you start taking Spinning® classes?

As a fitness coach, I ran a fitness studio in Delhi since 1999. In 2007, the word , “Spinning®," started circulating in the Delhi fitness circle and caught my attention. I always prided myself in introducing the latest fitness trends in my studio, club Xcell. Spinning  classes were introduced in my studio with a humble but lucky number, seven Spinner® bikes! Unfortunately there were no qualified Spinning instructors in my studio or in Delhi. I wanted to learn the fundaments of the Spinning program to be able to to take classes. Luck was in my favor, Sarah Morelli was teaching the first-ever Spinning Instructor Training in Mumbai. I cut short a holiday to China and flew to Mumbai to meet MI Sarah Morelli and fell in love with the Spinning program, got certified to teach the best fitness program, our very own Spinning program began and Spinning got officially introduced to Delhi.

What inspired you to become a Certified Spinning® Instructor andthen a Master Instructor?

I sincerely believe that fitness professionals have a big responsibility, to deliver safe and effective workouts, to have the correct and latest knowledge, to be qualified to teach based on the scientific understanding of the program. As a Spinning Instructor, what really got me hooked on to Spinning, was the “passion” behind the program. The “simple up-lifting,  feel-good factor," associated with Spinning, and the beautiful comradeship as team riding together. A fun, safe, effective program that leaves everybody with a smile on their lips and a spring in the step is my endeavor. As a Spinning Instructor, then I wanted now to share this enriching experience and to be able to “teach to be able to teach." It is also my belief that “if you teach you learn" and this motivates you to take it to the next level. This has been the most amazing journey for me since.

What do you love about teaching Spinning® classes?

Teaching Spinning leaves me exhilarated each and every time. I can relate to Johnny G's passion each and every time. I can feel the technical aspect of Spinning in every RPM. And yes, so can every single person riding in the Spinning room.

What are your top three favorite songs to play during your Spinning® classes and why?

  • "Jugni" – Altif. Arhi Lohar’
  • "My friend the wind"-Demis Roussos
  • "Children"-Robert Miles

All the above number work on the soul , and let the mind wonder and make the body follow the rhythm.

What makes Spinning® such a great workout?

It liberates you, connects you and inspires you, at the same time giving amazing health, fitness and emotional benefits.

Share a memory from your experience as a teacher/coach/presenter that embodies the value of being a Certified Spinning® Instructor or Spinning® Master Instructor?

My life has changed after Spinning, “My day is incomplete without a dose of Spinning," are the things people share with me. The most encouraging words are, "I will do the next Spinning Instructor Training." The most amazing was a simple you have touched my life in so many aspects, without realizing just by taking such positive, motivational Spinning sessions.

What advice would you give to someone who is thinking about becoming a Certified Spinning® Instructor?

Yes go for it ! “Do what you love, love what you do.”

What’s one of your favorite motivational quotes?

“The greatest of my achievements was at first and for a time, but a dream." - Napoleon Hill

Do you have a hero in the Spinning® community, someone who deserves recognition for their leadership?

Sarah Morelli , by being her awesome self, she aspired me to be like her. Carlene Yousuf, who really guided me to learn to become Spinning MI from a country where nobody knew about Spinning.

Is there anything about you that would surprise people?

Easy–the day I enter the class without my smile!
